It’s easy to find beauty in Gary, Indiana when you look in the right places. This photo was taken in October 2015 in Marquette Park near the lagoon. The sun hits the autumn grass just right under the large shade tree. I was lucky enough to find this spot when I did, because this scene only lasted for about fifteen minutes. There are many other features around the park as well as wildlife including fox and deer. Deer are known to come out in droves int he morning and evening hours throughout the Miller Beach community which lies just east of Marquette Park.
